HOW TO DETERMINE YOUR WEDDING BUDGET

Creating a wedding budget is one of the most challenging things I feel couples come across. How do we determine a wedding budget? What should be included? What element is important? Do I even need a wedding budget if I’m going to spend more anyway? These questions are just a few that I’ve noticed that every engaged couple tends to ask. Here at EverBe Creatives, we take a different approach to budgeting for your wedding. With that said, let’s talk about how we approach budgeting a wedding.

Budgeting your wedding based on value is the advice I’ll give to my clients. Instead of doing it like how it’s been done with following the recommended percentages for weddings, I would recommend budgeting based on what you value, and here is why.

We all know that weddings are a luxury, and they’re one of the biggest expenses a person spends money on, alongside buying a car and home. And these big ticket items are usually expensive no matter what you want for your wedding. So to maximize your budget and truly create a memorable experience, spend money on the elements that you value most. Do you love and value flowers? spend the money there. Do you want amazingly beautiful photos, the best food, and entertainment for your guests? Spend the money there. My whole point is this, allocate more money towards the areas and elements you feel would give you the most value. If you don’t value having a fancy cake or linens, then don’t spend the money there.

This is your wedding and it’s your chance to create an experience that you and your loved ones will remember for years to come. Stop spending money on things you don’t care about or just because it’s always been done this way so therefore you have to do it that way too. You’re unique so should every event you celebrate, including your wedding be.
