My Wedding Design Process: Phase II
Welcome back to Part II of my wedding design process! I hope you enjoyed part 1 of the process. Let’s get into the second phase of my process. This part is all about my kickoff meeting and all things design. My mission is to create timeless and exclusive experiences for all my couples filled with a sense of understated luxury and artful elegance.
Okay, I won’t bore you with too many words. Let’s get into this!
MY WEDDING DESIGN PROCESS: PHASE II
KICKOFF MEETING
I start every wedding project with a Kickoff Meeting. A kickoff meeting is just that-a meeting to kickoff the wedding design process. This meeting is different from the Discovery call in Phase I of my process. This meeting happens when all necessary documents are signed, and the retainer is paid. This meeting is to cover any questions you may have and set the expectations for the event project (basically expectations for the time we have together).
From this Kickoff Meeting, I will send some things for you to do which include the design questionnaire and access to your client portal. The Design questionnaire asks you questions about what you’re looking for in your wedding design and it helps me understand how I can best serve you.
This is one step of the process that is necessary to get done so we can start building your dream wedding design. Now let’s move on to the next part of Phase II.
DESIGN PHASE
With the Kickoff meeting and design questionnaire out of the way. We move on to the DESIGN PHASE. This is one of my favorite part of the process. It is when I get to chat through the design questionnaire with you and dream together. In this phase, I go through any mood boards or Pinterest boards you may have and start building out the design for your wedding.
Next, I will set up a series of design milestone meetings with you to chat through the Designs I’ll present to you. This is your chance to dream with me so effective feedback is extremely important here. Since this phase takes a bit of time, I like to be thorough and make sure I’ve covered all the necessary details and elements needed to make your big day beautiful.
From this phase, we go on to sourcing and booking design vendors and items. That will be discussed in Phase III of this series. Which is the most exciting and the final process where you get to see everything come to life.
